Boston fans, we told you there would be some special moments coming up this year, but what we didn’t tell you was that they wouldn’t all involve the Red Sox. On September 8th and 9th, 2011, the Dropkick Murphys and The Mighty, Mighty Bosstones will be playing Fenway Park!!! Dropkick Murphys tickets have been fan faves all around Boston since the Murphys music showed up on soundtracks to Boondock Saints and The Departed, and since their song I’m Shipping Up to Boston became the unofficial soundtrack to the Papelbon shuffle. Their recordings of Tessie and Dirty Water are played at Boston Red Sox home wins and at the Sox 2007 World Series victory parade. The Mighty, Mighty Bosstones also recorded a rendition of Dirty Water that appeared on a Fenway compilation and have a long history of playing to Boston concert-goers who now dress up in plaid with the band at shows. Don’t miss this opportunity to see Boston’s darlings the Dropkick Murphys in concert and The Mighty, Mighty, Mighty Bosstones live! Check out this clip of Papelbon running to the mound with the Dropkick Murphys playing in the background, see if that doesn’t give you chills:

After loosing the third game of their series at Yankee Stadium, post-season hopes for the 2010 Red Sox are all but gone. They’ll have to hang their heads on the valiant effort the Red Sox put forward even with several key injuries. Now they are stuck watching division rivals the New York Yankees and the Tampa Bay Rays play in the post season. So while Red Sox tickets are gone, the season for Ticket Liquidator playoff tickets is just getting started. If you like either the Rays of the Yanks you could be in for a real treat, and getting out to a game you will see a good time.

The quest for the World Series is like nothing else, when each and every pitch has incredible ramifications. There are some really good teams in the playoffs this year, with the past two World Series winners the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies in the post-season once again. Each year MLB playoff tickets get more and more popular, but this year the action is out of control! The Yankees and Phillies have two of the most dedicated fans in the sporting world, and with both fans eager to see their team take the first World Series of the new decade. Baseball tickets are hot sellers throughout the summer, but the intensity for demand really heats up when the post-season gets here. Careers are made or destroyed in October baseball, and who knows what timeless moments will happen during the 2010 playoffs? Get your tickets ready soon so you can see the historic moments live and in person. So, with the MLB playoffs ready to start on, Wednesday, October 6, here’s a look ahead at the 2010 playoff teams.

New York Yankees

It should come as no surprise that the New York Yankees are again in the playoffs, but while last year they entered the post-season looking almost invincible, this year there are a few chinks in their armor. But that hasn’t really affected sales of Yankees playoff tickets at all! Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettitte and Jorge Posada are all a year older, and all have struggled at times throughout the season. But the “core four” aren’t nearly the issue as the Yankees starting rotation is. Staff ace CC Sabathia won 20 games and has been electric all, but he is just one man. At some point, Pettitte, AJ Burnett, Javier Vazquez, Phil Hughes, or Joba Chamberlain will need to win a game. They definitely have the talents to get back to selling Yankees World Series tickets, but we’ll see they look after the NLCS (schedule) plays out. And lets not forget about the rest of the American League playoff picture.

Tampa Bay Rays

The Tampa Bay Rays and the Yankees have been swapping the AL East lead, and as of Monday, September 27 the Rays lead the Yankees by half a game. While home field advantage would be nice, Rays playoff tickets are going to be selling hot either way. They Rays arguably have the strongest starting rotation in the American League, and while the offense has been up and down at time,s they have some great players that have gotten it done in the past. Evan Longoria and Carlos Pena are electric hitters eager to win the World Series. A number of Rays players are likely to be free agents this year, so this is the season for this group of Rays to make a run. The Rays don’t sell many regular season tickets, but Rays playoff tickets are a different story. All the Rays fans come out for the post-season, and should they end up selling ALCS tickets they are then the fans will really turn out. Manager Joe Maddon has been great with his young staff for years now, and he knows what it takes to get his players to perform. The Rays are causing some major noise in the American League, and at gunpoint they are this writers pick to represent the AL in the Fall Classic.
