Red Sox lose to Blue Jays 11-5

The Toronto Blue Jays took on the the Boston Red Sox yesterday at Fenway Park with the Blue Jays coming out on top 11 to 5. You don’t often see such high scoring games, and anyone with Red Sox tickets sure got their money’s worth. This high-scoring game saw the teams combine for a whopping 16 runs! Talk about excitement! Not much compares to America’s Pastime so stock up on cheap baseball tickets and see all the fun live.

Blue Jays pitcher Scott Richmond (5.35 ERA) got the win, while Michael Bowden (10.80 ERA) took the loss for the Red Sox. Scott Richmond went 6 innings for the Blue Jays, allowed 6 hits, 3 home runs and 4 earned runs with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. Also pitching for the Blue Jays was Casey Janssen (6.00). The Red Sox’s starter Michael Bowden went 3 innings, allowed 7 hits, 2 home runs and 7 earned runs with one walk and 3 strikeouts. Hunter Jones (10.03), Dustin Richardson (0.00), and Manny Delcarmen (4.30) also pitched for the Red Sox. With the win, Richmond’s record goes to 8-10, while Bowden is at 0-1.

In addition to the 11 runs, the Blue Jays scored 14 hits and committed no errors. Lyle Overbay led the Blue Jays in hitting with 3 hits, followed by Rod Barajas’s 2 hits, and Edwin Encarnacion with 2. The Red Sox didn’t have anyone with a big night with not one batter getting more than 2 hits. The Red Sox scored 5 runs, 7 hits and no errors.

Umpiring duties were performed by Jerry Meals, Ron Kulpa, Mike DiMuro and Dale Scott. There were 37,591 Red Sox ticket holders in attendance at Fenway Park.

The win puts the Blue Jays at a record of 73-84, (28 games behind first place in the division), while the loss brings the Red Sox to 91-65, (9.5 games behind the division leader). The Red Sox and Blue Jays go again tomorrow. There are still plenty of tickets available so take a look.
