Royals edge Red Sox by 1

The Kansas City Royals squeaked to victory over the Boston Red Sox yesterday at Fenway Park with the Royals earning the win 4 to 3. Royals pitcher Brian Bannister (4.70 ERA) got the win, while Daisuke Matsuzaka (5.77 ERA) took the loss for the Red Sox. Brian Bannister went 6 innings for the Royals, allowed 9 hits, one home run and 3 earned runs with no walks and 4 strikeouts. Also pitching for the Royals was Robinson Tejeda (4.88), and Blake Wood (1.04).
